Daniel Davies

Daniel Davies (b. 1992, Blackpool, UK) based in London.

Daniel Davies’ paintings of recurring bodily forms work with repeated motifs of legs, shoes, hands, pathways and vegetation allow images to circulate between figure, landscape and architecture. Bodies become rhythmic structures rather than individual subjects and identities. Through a process of revision, earlier iterations remain active beneath the surface, producing paintings that carry their own memory and unfold through recurrence over resolution. Davies' paintings hold movement in suspension, where atmosphere emerges through duration and the act of looking becomes repetition, return and the emotional structures of ordinary life.
